We exist to support students at the University of Warwick who are coping with disabilities, mental health issues, hate crime and bereavement.
We've kept our website deliberately simple so that all the information you'll need is available on one page. There is also an accessible version.

Umbrella is a student society, which means it's run both by and for students. It is part of the University of Warwick Students' Union.
The people who run Umbrella are all Warwick students who want to help people get through things they have either been through themselves or which they care deeply about: things like disability, mental health issues, hate crime, and bereavement. By setting up this society we hope we are able to allow students who find themselves in such circumstances to meet other people in similar situations and either use that opportunity to talk to someone who can empathise or just socialise and meet for a coffee.
The society is run by an Executive Committee comprised of the following students:
President
Tegan Cullwick
Secretary
Jenna Mckeown
Treasurer
Matt Ramsden
Publicity Officer
Gary Bullock
Self Harm Officers
Vicki Benson and Charly Annand
Disabilities Officer
Dave Medina
We are currently looking for more officers for various groups. If you are interested in becoming the mental health, bereavement, eating disorders or any other appropriate officer then contact the society.
We are also supported by the 2007/08 Students' Union's Welfare & Equal Opportunities Sabbatical Officer, Ed Callow.
We run small, informal group discussion sessions which aim to support students going through hard times.

Any student can come to our group sessions discuss the issue which the session is designed to cover. Currently we offer groups for disability, mental health, hate crime victims and bereavement, and we hope to offer more groups in the future. We are not here to offer professional advice; rather we aim to provide an environment where you can talk about anything that's bothering you and meet other people who are going through similar things. If you do need professional advice or support, we will be able to point you to people who can provide it.
Contact us in confidence with any queries, comments or suggestions.
You can contact the society by email at hello@warwickumbrella.co.uk. Only members of our Executive Committee will see your message (except in exceptional circumstances, when staff or sabbatical officers of the University of Warwick Students' Union may also see it).
If you would be interested in setting up a group of your own, please let us know! We are keen to help students with other issues and are actively looking for people with knowledge of specific issues/problems who would be willing to share their experiences with others. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please contact groups@warwickumbrella.co.uk and we'll send you more information.
You can also access our Facebook group by clicking here. Please join to show your support.
